Review From A Happy Atlas Floors Customer
Sandy, I am severely computer ignorant and was unable to review Atlas and your service on line. I do however wish to thank you and the installation crew for the wonderful job you all did in installing the new laminate and ceramic tile surfaces in our home.
But first a little background information. When we first bought our home in 1994, we selected another local and well known "O' company" and the results were so awful that we would never recommend them to anyone else. My mother, husband and I had spent weeks removing the carpet, cleaning and painting everything in preparation for the install. We were all working at that time and had to paint during evenings and days off. The downstairs bath and laundry rooms required removal of carpet and old vinyl, so the installer said concrete floors had to be "sealed" before new vinyl could be installed. The installer suggested that the new vinyl be laid over the existing vinyl in the kitchen after he "floated" it. Moisture from the concrete eventually caused the bath and laundry room floors to discolor, while the pattern of the old flooring "telegraphed" through to the new kitchen vinyl almost immediately. The carpeting was installed in two different directions in one room and the seam in the living room never went away, even after a couple of "repairs". Finally the "professional" installers sliced through many of the baseboards while installing the carpet. The company offered to pay for new baseboards, but we would have had to have repainted and reinstalled them ourselves and the movers were coming. Ultimately the company gave us a check for a couple of hundred dollars for our "inconvenience" and we had to sign a statement that we would not bother them anymore on any of the flooring we had purchased - our entire 2- story house full. I hope that you can see our hesitation and concern about any selection we might have to make in the future.
Atlas was the first business we visited this year when looking for someone to install new flooring for us. Sandy Cheatham, our saleslady, was professional, caring, and concerned that we found just the right laminate product in our price range. We had brought general dimensions, so Sandy did a rough estimate. When we discussed ceramic or a new heavy duty vinyl for the various we areas, she introduced us to a new underlayment designed to help prevent cracking of tile.
Later she brought out samples of the laminate and ceramic tile and took specific measurements. We ultimately went with our first choice in the laminate, but she found a more reasonable and almost identical ceramic tile. We did check out a dealer that advertises on TV, but has no showroom or local warehouse. They will "install the next day!" But where do you go if you have a problem? We also visited a well known liquidator, another local dealer and two big box stores, but Atlas had a larger selection and the price was better. And we found exactly what we wanted.
We were very impressed with the cost breakdown on our order. We knew exactly what everything would cost, unlike the very general estimate given by the owner of a different company we contacted. He said that he had been doing estimates for 30 years and could knock out one in just a few minutes.
The installation team was absolutely terrific! We were amazed at the care with which they moved and replaced our furniture, even placing sliders and then felt strips underneath to prevent scratching our beautiful new dark "wood" floors. The ceramic tiles are gorgeous! They did an absolutely wonderful job of installing everything. When a question arose we were asked what our preference was and that is what they did. The results are just beautiful! We are so very pleased with the service at the store, with our great saleslady, and with our new floors. We were even given special care products for each type of flooring for free!
We would highly recommend Atlas Floors to anyone seeking a truly professional flooring service.
